Science teaches you how to shoot a rubber band more effectively.
Researchers are now trying to know how to shoot a rubber band more effectively by applying sciene. Using high speed cameras they are studying the science of rubber band.
Researchers have analyzed what happens to a rubber band when it’s launched from a thumb. The results offer some tips for how to make a clean shot.
The researchers focused on one particular shooting technique: Elastic is slung around the raised thumb of one hand and pulled back with the fingers of the other hand. Standardizing the operation by using a cylinder rather than a thumb, the scientists filmed the details of the shooting process.
When the rubber band is let loose, a release of tension in the band quickly travels toward the cylinder. Meanwhile, the band itself zings toward the cylinder at a slower speed than that tension release.
Its the game of energies stored in it .There are actually two different kinds of energy potential energy, which is stored energy, and kinetic energy, which is energy in motion. A great example of the difference between kinetic and potential energy is from the classic "snake-in-a-can" prank. This is an old joke where you give someone a can of peanuts and tell them to open it, but inside is actually a long spring that pops out when the lid is twisted off. Because the spring is usually decorated to look like a snake, this prank usually causes the victim to jump back and shout in surprise!
When the snaky spring is compressed and secured inside the unopened can, it has potential energy. But when the can is opened, the potential energy quickly converts to kinetic energy as the fake snake jumps out.
The science of shooting is imple just stretch the band a little not very long. If you stretch it for long distance it will immediately going to hit your hand . So stretch it little and it is going go pefect and going to hit your target at perfect place.
So thats the science behind rubber band or you can say science of energy which ks stored in it.
